Oracle Card of the Week March 30th, 2012

This Week's Oracle Card: The Novice
Innocence, beginner, ignorance, new skill...
novice
"Innocence, naiveté, foolishness, early knowledge not yet integrated, the ability to see the world untainted, and learning ability-these are the aspects of the Novice as she appears in your life.

The Novice is reminding you to be teachable and humble. If you don't know something, don't pretend that you do. Chances are that you'll make an error that may cost you more than you wish to pay.

New information is coming, and this is the time to be open to learning and expanding. The Novice also reminds you to be like a child and remember the wonder and awe you once had for the world around you... when discovering magic was an essential part of everyday experience.

The Novice reminds you that you need to stop and ask yourself, "What lesson must I learn here?" The lesson is always mirrored in the experience in front of you. Dig deep into the workings of whatever situation you're inquiring about. You don't have to look far, for the answer is right in front of you.

Sometimes it may feel as if you have two left feet and don't know how to dance, or that perhaps you're fumbling in the dark and fear that you may be left behind. It's all right to be in the "not-knowing." This is the place where new understanding takes time to integrate.

Be gentle with yourself. The greatest gift the Novice reminds you of is that you're always at the beginning of some area of your life. Patience and slow movement is required when the Novice appears.

Before moving forward, perhaps you need time to journal your thoughts and receive clarity about what the Mystery invites you to learn. Then rejoice! The Novice of Avalon is on a path to higher knowledge and abundant manifestation and doesn't stay a Novice for long."

In ancient Chinese myth there are five tigers that hold the balance of cosmic forces in place and prevent chaos from collapsing into the universe:
  • White Tiger: ruler of the Fall season and governor of the Metal elementals
  • Black Tiger: ruler of the Winter season and governor of the Water elementals
  • Blue Tiger: ruler of the Spring season and governor of the Earth elementals
  • Red Tiger: ruler of the Summer season and governor of the Fire elementals
  • Yellow Tiger: the supreme ruler of all these tigers and symbolic of the Sun
No matter what "color" of tiger you are, remember that we are all bringing something important to the table and each element is needed.
Beginners Blessings,

Oracle Card of the Week March 23rd, 2012

This Week's Oracle Card: Earth Faery
Physical Health, Grounding, Foundations...
"The Earth Faery says to pay attention to your health and all things pertaining to your physical body. Perhaps you need exercise or to pay special attention to your diet. Are you getting enough sleep?

The Earth Faery reminds you to indulge your senses. It's good to revel in the sensations of your body. The sensual world is an important part of the path to Avalon and must be honored.

When the Earth Faery appears, she reminds you to get into your body and out of your head. Don't spend so much time analyzing things over and over. Get your hands into some dirt-gardening, perhaps? Walk barefoot in the grass, and remember that your physical self is the house of your spirit, as the Mother Earth houses you. Get grounded; remember that you're part of the living earth. Stay connected.

Another message from the Earth Faery is to make sure the foundations of all you do are solid. Be aware that projects, relationships, business ideas, and families all need to be built on sturdy, steady foundations. The Earth Faery always helps you when you ask."

Dear Deborah,
Remember, you can start again, build slowly. Start with a strong stable foundation rooted in love & discernment.
Growth & Goodness,

Weekly Oracle Card March16th, 2012

This Week's Oracle Card: Heart Chakra
The answer that you seek is in your heart right now. Be open to giving and receiving love...

"The angels want you to trust your feelings. Your heart is wise, and it's calling for you to make important changes. Trust this wisdom, as it won't let you down. Every time you defy your inner feelings, your heart breaks a little bit. Repair your heart and your relationship with yourself by honoring your emotions. For instance, if you're unhappy with a situation, it means that something is wrong and action is necessary. Ask the angels to give you courage and support to make healthy changes at home and work.

This card also calls you to open your heart to love. Perhaps you've been hurt in prior relationships and are guarded against additional pain. The angels assure you that they'll protect you and your heart, so it's safe for you to feel love and other emotions. The Action Steps below will help you follow through on all of the angels' advice."

Dear Deborah,

As we focus on our heart chakra this week, place a rose quartz or green aventurine stone in your pocket, by your night stand or in a bag you carry with you. Both of these stones are excellent helpers in healing the heart.

Love & Spring Time Blessings,

Oracle Card of the Week March 9th 2012

This Week's Oracle Card: Dedication
The giving of one's self to some purpose...

Dedication

"The spiritual warrior dedicates their arrows of inspiration by playing the bow as an instrument of summoning. The inner oath helps keep one on a balanced footing by dedicating skills to a greater good."

Any change, growth or development requires dedication & waking up each day with that goal on your mind and working towards it. The Dedication card shares with us that this week we are called to dedicate ourselves to something.

Weekly Oracle Card March 2nd 2012

This Week's Oracle Card: Patience
It is our greatest treasure to be able to wait for the right moment...

Patience

"We have forgotten how to wait; it is almost an abandoned space. And it is our greatest treasure to be able to wait for the right moment. The whole existence waits for the right moment. Even trees know it--when it is time to bring the flowers and when it is time to let go of all the leaves and stand naked against the sky. They are still beautiful in that nakedness, waiting for the new foliage with a great trust that the old has gone, and the new will soon be coming, and the new leaves will start growing. We have forgotten to wait, we want everything in a hurry. It is a great loss to humanity.... In silence and waiting something inside you goes on growing--your authentic being. And one day it jumps and becomes a flame, and your whole personality is shattered; you are a new person. And this new person knows what ceremony is, this new person knows life's eternal juices.

Commentary:
There are times when the only thing to do is to wait. The seed has been planted, the child is growing in the womb, the oyster is coating the grain of sand and making it into a pearl. This card reminds us that now is a time when all that is required is to be simply alert, patient, waiting. The woman pictured here is in just such an attitude. Contented, with no trace of anxiety, she is simply waiting. Through all the phases of the moon passing overhead she remains patient, so in tune with the rhythms of the moon that she has almost become one with it. She knows it is a time to be passive, letting nature take its course. But she is neither sleepy nor indifferent; she knows it is time to be ready for something momentous. It is a time full of mystery, like the hours just before the dawn. It is a time when the only thing to do is to wait."

So much we can learn from penguin... a bird, that does not fly but swims... often lives in the most unlikely of climates and exists happily on land or in the water. Taking on the versatility of penguin will serve us well to move beyond any times of perceived hardship.
